Video of the Day: Ford F-150 Electric Pickup Prototype Tows Over 1 Million Pounds (450 Tonnes) Train

Earlier this year, American automaker Ford officially announced that it will release an all-electric version of its iconic Ford F-150 pickup truck. Today the company has published a video in which a prototype of the future novelty is towing a cargo weighing more than 1 million pounds (over 450 tons).

To demonstrate the power of the future novelty, the company representatives assembled a "train" of 10 double-deck railway cars, into which they loaded 42 new Ford F-150 pickup trucks of the 2019 model year. The total weight of the cargo exceeded 1 million pounds or 453,592 kilograms.

The prototype presented in the video is assembled on the basis of a conventional ICE model Ford F-150, so we did not receive any hints of the appearance of the future novelty. The all-electric Ford F-150 pickup truck is expected to enter the market in late 2020 - early 2021.

Uber introduced in Ukraine a new security feature "Check your trip"

Uber has introduced in Ukraine a new security function "Check your trip", which will help users not to make mistakes when getting into the car. According to the company, more and more people using Uber end up either not in their Uber, or in a completely different car. This is a fairly common problem, especially in crowded urban areas. In most cases, this can be a harmless mistake, but it can also be a security risk.

Therefore, starting today, passengers will receive a push notification that will remind them to check if the car's license plate and driver's photo match those specified in the application, immediately after the system confirms the presence of the car. The alert will start working today and will become available to all Ukrainian users in the coming days.

Also, Uber is adding a banner notification to the app, which will appear immediately after finding a car and until the moment you start a trip to remind you how to confirm the correct car: Step 1: check the license plate

Step 2: check the make and model of the car

Step 3: check the driver's photo to make sure it's your driver

Alternatively, passengers can also ask the driver to confirm their name. The driver sees the passenger's name in his application, just like a passenger sees the driver's name in his. To be sure of the names, they may ask, "Who should you pick up here?" And the driver can also ask the passenger to confirm their name: "Who is your driver?"

“We want to make trip log review synonymous with Uber. This new alert feature will remind users to complete these three steps every time they board Uber.

This is another significant and compelling reminder of how important safety is to us, and that technology can make travel safer than ever, ”said Ashkan Kebriti, CEO of Uber Central and Eastern Europe.

As a reminder, last year Uber launched a suite of security tools in Ukraine, in addition to GPS tracking of all trips. Many of these features were highlighted in Uber's latest Safety Never Stops campaign, including Help Button 102, Trusted Contacts, Safety Center, and Speed Alerts.
