Tesla official service center appeared in Poland
As you know, Tesla cars are quite popular among Ukrainians, despite the fact that they are not officially sold here and are very expensive. Actually, as of May 8, 2019, 845 of them were registered. We have yet to wait until Tesla decides to enter the Ukrainian market or at least build the long-promised Tesla Supercharger fast charging stations. In the meantime, Ukrainian owners of new Tesla cars bought in Europe, in order not to lose the warranty, can go to the MOT in neighboring Poland.
Yes, you read everything correctly, the first official Tesla service center has opened in Poland. Of course, it is located in the capital of Poland - Warsaw. The service is already working and is mentioned among others on the corresponding page of the Tesla official website.
"It's just that money is really needed." Tesla Increases Full Self-Driving Package Price by $ 1000 Again
Tesla yesterday removed the most affordable (Standard Range) configurations of the Model S and Model X electric vehicles from the range, thereby increasing the initial prices for these models by $ 5,000 and $ 4,000, respectively. Yes, at the same time the manufacturer reduced the cost of the Standard Range Plus configuration of the junior Model 3 model, but only by $ 1000. But besides these, there is another significant change concerning the prices of the company's cars. Exactly one month later, from August 16, the advanced autopilot - the Full Self-Driving option - will rise in price again and again by $ 1000 (not even two months have passed since the last increase). The corresponding announcement on his Twitter was made by the head of the company Elon Musk, warning that the price of Full Self-Driving would increase every few months.
The Full Self-Driving option now costs $ 6,000 when added at checkout and $ 8,000 when unlocked after buying a car. That is, from August 16, prices will jump to $ 7,000 and $ 9,000, respectively, depending on the conditions for ordering the service.
Tesla brought back the Full Self-Driving option, which has been the subject of much controversy in the past, at the start of the year. As you know, Full Self-Driving, despite the name, is not a full-fledged autopilot, since it does not endow Tesla electric vehicles with the ability to self-drive. It differs from the basic Autopilot package in a number of additional features: self-parking and driving to the owner on call (Autopark and Summon functions), Navigate on Autopilot functionality, which is responsible for selecting the most optimal route to the destination when the function is active. Autopilot as well as Autosteer Stop Light Warning.
As a reminder, in April Tesla presented its own Full Self-Driving (FSD) automotive SoC, which should further expand the capabilities of Tesla's "full autopilot". Now Tesla cars with the Full Self-Driving package can only move independently on highways (under the constant supervision of the driver, of course), but at the end of the year, after the corresponding firmware update, they will begin to recognize markings and traffic signals, thanks to which they will be able to automatically move not only along high-speed motorways outside the city, but also on roads within the city. Musk promised the corresponding opportunity at the beginning of the year. He recently announced that before the end of this year, the company will start updating old cars with the new FSD processor. Recall that it will replace the previous generation HW 2.5 platform based on the NVIDIA Drive PX 2 chip.
Returning to the topic of increasing the prices of Full Self-Driving, Tesla is now doing everything possible and impossible to become profitable again. And all of these changes in prices are clearly aimed at achieving this goal. In other words, the manufacturer seeks to increase revenue in this way. In the past quarter, Tesla managed to set a new record, delivering almost 100,000 vehicles to customers. But it is not yet clear whether this will help the belt-tightening policy return to a profit. The financial report for the quarter will be released later this month.
Tesla has removed the most affordable (Standard Range) Model S and Model X configurations from the range, and also reduced the price of the most affordable version of the Model 3
Tesla decided once again to slightly modify the line of cars and remove "unnecessary" configurations from sale. This time, these turned out to be the popular versions (Standard Range) of the Model S sedan and Model X crossover. Both models are no longer available for purchase on the manufacturer's website.
Having opened the online configurations on the manufacturer's website, you can make sure that from now on, both older models of the line are offered only in Long Range and Performance versions. These changes mean that the starting price of the Model S in the US jumped from $ 75,000 to $ 79,990, and the Model X jumped from $ 81,000 to $ 84,990. In other words, the base Model S and Model X are now Long Range.
