Often parents are afraid that they will not be able to motivate their child and they will have to FORCE him to learn. Everything is easier at school.
...
“School” motivation differs from “home” motivation in that it is always external - it is the pursuit of grades or praise. Of course, trying to recreate such a system at home is impossible, and unnecessary - motivation brought from the outside quickly discourages the natural interest in learning. And "internal" motivation will keep the child's curiosity for a long time. This has been proven by numerous studies. The child needs to feel that his actions make sense, that everything is in his hands. It is important for everyone to be aware of their importance.

Therefore, in my opinion, the task of the parents of a CO-shnik is not to promise the child some kind of reward (although this method can be resorted to, most importantly, in moderation), but to explain why he needs to learn, and what it is. will give.

But if you face the truth, then of course, it is impossible to "motivate" someone with simple explanations. This will rather help the child understand the meaning of his actions, but will not make learning more fun. Therefore, short-term motivation is also needed. It can be anything, you know your children and you know what they like.

But, in my opinion, you should not motivate your children with sweets, new things and computer games. Why not offer to go to the park together, watch a movie, put together a puzzle instead? It is motivation by action. It is good because it does not depreciate over time: any toys and, in general, material things will sooner or later get bored and will be taken for granted by the child, and not as a reward for work. And the time spent with your parents, you see, is the best reward you can think of :) How do you motivate your children?
